Olympian Bloggers

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) lifted the ban on blogging for athletes in the 2008 Olympics.

Rules include: No blogging about other competitors, no videos, photos, or audio clips of sporting events or opening, closing, and medal ceremonies and no domain names with words similar to "Olympics". Are corporate media sponsors really that intimidated by some athlete's LiveJournal?

Editorial note: Whoa! You've found a super-old post here on BuzzFeed, from an earlier era of the site. It doesn't really represent where we are anymore, and may in fact be totally broken, but we're leaving it up as a part of our early history.
