Hip TV shows try to boost their appeal with tech product placement. It tends to turn us off when characters in TV shows gratuitously show people using iMacs or BlackBerries, but certain shows seem hell-bent on sticking the latest gadgets into their plotlines. Apple, for instance, is all over the place on Entourage and Californication. (Thanks for the tip!)
