    Judge Rules 75,000,000,000,000 LimeWire Lawsuit "Absurd"

    A New York judge has decided that the RIAA's attempt to claim $75 trillion dollars from file-sharing service LimeWire, may be just a trifle overreaching. That's 75 trillion dollars with a "T," and 12 zeroes to the left of the decimal point.

    • Record companies are suing LimeWire for 75 Trillion dollars. The judge presiding in the case, Kimba Wood, made clear in a 14 page opinion that she found the request absurd and claims that it stretches copyright laws to their breaking point. ~ Geekosystem

    • 75 Trillion is more money than the entire music recording industry has made since Edison's invention of the phonograph in 1877.

    • If you stack up $1,000 bills, $1 trillion would need a pile that is 80 miles high... and then multiply that by 75.

    • With a population of approximately 300 million people, you could give away $75 trillion by giving every man, woman and child in the U.S. $255,000 each.

    • 75 trillion dollars could buy 150,000 trips on the space shuttle.
