I’m vegan, and I rarely see vegans acting this way. But you know, it’s infuriating that people continue to eat animals despite knowing how they’re treated before they come to our plates, and the overwhelming science proving sentience. People SHOULD know, and SHOULD talk about it. Sure, being vegan is probably going to come up when you’re eating with non-vegan friends, but in my experience, it’s because NON-VEGANS ask, they’re curious, and that’s cool. Dialogue is good for everybody. I’m not sure why this vegan hates vegans so much, but I think THAT’s annoying. (Though I also think she’s per se awesome for being vegan.) P.S. EVERYBODY CAN BE VEGAN. If you’re doctor tells you can’t, you should find a new doctor. Complete proteins (that are orders of magnitude healthier than meat) abound in a plant-based diet, as does calcium, iron, and everything but B12 (that you can get in a delicious, cherry-flavored supplement).
