When you were little, people assumed you were like them:

Your parents have confused your names on occasion... even if you don't look alike.
If you shared classes in high school, dividing up homework was a given.
People around you get scared when you and your multiple 'argue', and with good reason.
But it's okay because no matter how intense the fight, you always make up.
So when strangers ask how long you've known each other, you like to mess with them.
Even after you tell people your multiple is of the opposite gender, they still ask if you're identical.
But it's cool -- you're an expert on explaining "identical" and "fraternal".
And your mom is an expert at giggling whenever anyone marvels at the size of a woman in late-term pregnancy.
It goes without saying you've secretly wished for your own birthday (at least several times)
And you can't even begin to explain how tired you are of hearing "Wow! So what's it like being a multiple?"
But deep down, you kind of hope you have multiples of your own one day.
Though if there's anyone you can share your deepest fears with, it's your multiple.
After all, there's strength in numbers!
