Yeah, I went to see The Phantom Menace in 3D yesterday, and it’s not something I’m not too proud of, but it had to be done. If this release is unsuccessful, George Lucas has said they will not convert any of the MUCH BETTER Star Wars films, which is kinda……fucked. Pretty much everybody wants to see Episodes IV-VI, I mostly want to see Empire Strikes back, imagine seeing those Imperial Walkers stomping at you.

I found this out today too: according to The Hollywood Reporter’s article on “What ‘Star Wars’ in 3D Means to George Lucas“, at ALL AMC THEATERS NATIONWIDE, fans who buy digital 3D tickets on the first weekend will get a “Hasbro Star Wars Fighter Pod Toy”.

Does my ticket not have AMC’s watermark? Wheres my fucking toy? And yes, I still love Star Wars toys. I got a fucking lightsaber for Christmas, heres proof:

I know, I should be wearing black gloves, and I actually am in some of the twenty or so pictures we took of me in this thing, but the sunlight just looks cool. By the way, helmet and cloak belong to my brother Big Ed .

Back to the Phantom Menace. I have seen the non-3D version of this movie three times: the first day of its original theatrical release, the first day it came out on dvd, and while I was on vacation in Germany. If you would have told me that the day before the first time I saw it I probably would have told you the over under number of times I would have seen it in theaters was five.

The best thing to do is remember two things: 1. go in prepared and have the fact that “This movie is still the piece of shit known as Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and watching it in 3D will not change that” embedded in your brain. 2. It’s essentially a kids movie. Don’t tell me it isn’t after watching it again. That way you can enjoy the good points, which is what we are going to look at first.
