    23 Signs You Went To Blue Star Camps!

    In honor of Summer 2014, we put together a few memories from summers past!

    1. Getting your five-year sweatshirt is the most important day of your life.

    2. You start every summer with the same question: do I have to take the swim test again if I took it last summer?

    3. No mural or plaque is complete without three mountains representing the three brothers, or the six points of the star representing the six camps.

    4. Your team really earned their Color War win. But if you lost, then it was totally rigged.

    5. You know the meaning of this phrase on carnival day: I’ll trade you my pony ride for your cotton candy.

    6. It doesn’t really matter where the field trip is going as long as there is junk food there.

    7. You know the camp lyrics to a song, but not the real lyrics, because the Zimriah version is the only one that matters.

    8. Cabin lines!!!!

    9. You are able to say that you know someone from America, Australia, New Zealand, England, Hungary, Czech Republic, South Africa, Russia, Mexico, France and more!

    10. You put extra effort into your options in the hopes that the specialists will make you a paper plate award at banquet.

    11. Elmore Solomon was an ordinary man…

    12. The days that you get Granny’s = the best days of the week!

    13. You feel like such a rebel when you yell “Y’TAYN” during the Shabbat blessings.

    14. No fireworks show is as awesome as the one you watch standing behind the HeRo.

    15. That fire better start growing because you can only scream “build that fire a little higher” for so long.

    16. You sing the Blue Star versions of the Shabbat prayers at home all year. Adon Olam in the tune of Backstreet Boys? Ain’t no summer like a Blue Star summer!

    17. You live 10 months for two with your camp friends, the best friends in the whole world: “Always together, never apart. Maybe in distance but never in heart.”

    18. You’ve never seen a sight as astonishing as the stars while star-gazing at camp. Who knew that many stars even existed?

    19. You only made it through the Pinnacle hike because you knew a cheese sandwich from packout would be waiting for you at the top of the mountain.

    20. You also have the standard cabin picture on Shabbat standing on the Black Top.

    21. It’s weird for you to not throw your liquids away at the end of a meal in a special trash bin.

    22. Nothing is more emotional than a tearful goodbye on the Black Top.

    23. You know the meaning of Blue Star Magic and can’t wait to come back next summer!
