Ahh I remember this!! The story that freaked me out the most was the spiders in the cheek one…but all of the pictures were equally terrifying

I remember these from grammar school. They freaked me out so much, I couldn't even hold them. Looking back on it now, I'm surprised this was even considered a kid's book. The images are pretty horrifying.

I remember being excited to buy this from the scholastic book thing at school, and when it came it was a kitten poster. I guess they misread my order number.

Totally had these. My mom took them away when she finally realized I wasn't sleeping at night because of them.

Elementary school! I remember purchasing two of these books from the Scholastic Catalog and not being able to keep them in my bedroom… yes, the illustrations were THAT creepy.

I remember 2nd grade, we did this whole “indoor camping trip” thing near the end of the year. We set up a tent in the classroom, had a fake fire, had smores, and some people brought books to read from. I brought one of these books. Ah, sweet nostalgia.

FYI, they reissued these books in a nicer version with less scary pictures. AKA: RUINED THEM. That being said, who's got my toe?

I would always skip the picture pages for a reason! These haunt my nightmares to this day. And I still remember the stories…. GAH no green ribbons or wedding chests evar!!!

Holy crap! I remember covering the images in the book just to try and read the stories.

YES! I've been looking for the names of these books I had them a long time ago don't know what happened to them, now I can hopefully repurchase them, pretty much the best scary stories ever.

Had all 3 in paperback, really gotta go on Amazon and get the hard cover collection.
