I think it's a neat idea, especially if it's stocked with really common popular items and snacks, so long as it's restocked each day, and the temperature is kept cold enough on the inside. No one wants food poisoning from bad meat.

While it's not strictly the same thing, I feel like the world has forgotten about automats. But even if you eat meat, would you buy it from a vending machine? Some of those chips are in there for months.
