Places To Hang Out On Campus

Half of the college experience is meeting new, lifelong friends. If you live on campus at Bellarmine University, you can hang out for as long as you want without Mom ruining your night telling you to come home. With all this time to chill, there are a lot of places you can go. But, if you ask someone what they want to do, it usually involves money; as poor college students, we can’t do that. So, just hanging out is the best option. Where do you hang out on a smaller campus? There are plenty of awesome places. List by Drew Bilodeau

That One Friend’s Room

There’s always the one friend in the group with the huge TV, PlayStation4 and the Nintendo 64. Just put in Super Smash Bros and that’s a good hour… or six... down the drain. But whatever you do, DON’T play Mario Party. That is where friendships go to die.

Palio

If you’re in need of a late night snack head over to Palio, order some chicken tenders and settle in. Something about that place just makes conversation flow. You can spend a couple hours eating and talking and, you guessed it, more eating.

The Fishbowl

Do you have a break between your classes in Clayton Hall? The Fishbowl is great place to spend an hour. The two TVs in there help you relax and stay caught up on the latest LeBron James news (Seriously though, how does ESPN talk about him so much?). Did you just finish eating the “gourmet” food at the dining hall? The comfy chairs in the Fishbowl are perfect for digesting your food baby.

Lobby of your Residence Hall

Few people play more recreational billiards than a college student. It’s easy to learn and fun to play. Grab some friends and have a tournament to determine who the greatest pool shark is this side of the Ohio River.

The Tables Outside of Horrigan

Now this one only works at the beginning and end of the school year, but it’s always bumping during those times. It’s the fall and spring so it’s nice and comfortable outside. It’s a great way to get some fresh air and avoid the crowds inside Horrigan during the lunch rush.

Study Room in the Library

The library sounds boring right? Wrong. If you get a study room, you and your friends can be as loud as you want. You can play music without headphones or even watch some Netflix. My personal favorite thing to do in the study rooms is play Hangman on the chalkboards. Or you could also, ya know, study in them.

Bardstown Road/Baxter Avenue/The Highlands

Now this isn’t technically on Bellarmine’s campus, but it is close and can be free. There are a bunch of cool shops to browse around for when you get some birthday money. However, the best part of the Highlands is people watching. There are so many different types of people walking around, it provides endless entertainment.
