As Newcastle United got their Premier League season under way, two fans are missing. Gone but not forgotten, tributes have taken place for Liam Sweeney and John Alder, two of the 298 killed in the MH17 air disaster.

40 Years

On the day that Liverpool kick-off their 2014/15 Premier League with a 2-1 win over Southampton, it's 40 years since Bob Paisley took charge of his first game at the club - that game also finished 2-1 to Liverpool.

Fan Free-Kick @ Upton Park

A fan ran onto the pitch at Upton Park on Saturday, taking a free-kick, and hitting the target - more than Tottenham did when the free-kick was actually taken!

Unfortunately for the fan, Scotland Yard have confirmed that he has been arrested and is being held at a police station in East London.
