10 Foreign Females American Ears Need

These 10 (well technically 22...) ladies are doing our American ears such a disservice by not properly releasing their music stateside, but that's what the internet is for.

Janet Leon was in the second line up of PLAY, but after the group disbanded she disappeared until 2009. She released this beautiful song along with her own Swedish reality show to follow her development as a solo artist. Sadly she's basically disappeared again, but keeps teasing fans that something might be happening soon...too bad these teases have been happening for almost a year.

Girls' Generation (more commonly known as SNSD) are Korea's hottest Girlband, and honestly if you think they aren't you are wrong. These 9 girls are the most in sync dancers and band I've ever witnessed, the only issue is that this song is their only English song that I can sing along to. They have developed from bubblegum KPOP to becoming the literal definition of fierceness.

A*M*E is an up and coming UK artist and an incredibly underrated one at that. She already has a UK #1 under her belt with her collaboration on Duke Dumont's track Need U (100%). Once her debut LP is released she will be one to watch big time.

Tich is one of the UK's most underrated artists and it pains me to not see her career explode! She has some of the most infectious pop songs in a while, plus she's ADORABLE, plus she's an incredibly talented pianist. She has toured with Pixie Lott (another artist we need in the US), Justin Bieber, and Olly Murs. I hope the third single from this lady is the charmer that catapults her to fame.

Alyssa Reid has no excuse for not venturing to the US as she is from Canada, she wouldn't even have to hop a pond! She started on a children's singing competition show in Canada and was in the Top 5 finalists, she disappeared, and then BAM out of no where releases this hugely successful single that samples Heart's "Alone". For some reason her management felt the need to release this single in the UK and promote her there....le sigh.

Jessica Mauboy is a pretty well kept secret in Australia mostly because they don't share. At 16 she auditioned for the 4th season of Australian Idol and was the runner up. For some reason after the show she felt the need to join a girlgroup of former Aus Idol ladies for one CD, after that CD she left the group to pursue her solo career. She is one of the highest charting and most successful Australian ladies currently with her 3rd album coming out this year.

Tove Lo is another incredibly talented Swedish woman. Her unique voice and incredibly direct lyrics set her apart and are what caught my attention. Technically Habits did get a US release, but only on iTunes. Her 3rd single will be coming out soon and from the live versions she has another epic song on her hands.

Cheryl Cole should be a pretty well known name at this point in her career considering she was part of the UK's biggest girlband (behind Spice Girls), Girls Aloud, has been a successful judge on X Factor UK, and had a massively successful solo career with 3 top charting albums under her belt already. She SHOULD be huge in the US right now, but Simon Cowell had to fire her from X Factor US and replace her with Nicole Flopzinger....I'm still pissed.

SAMANTHA JADE is one of those artists who tries and tries and the music industry just doesn't bite UNTIL NOW! She signed with JIVE when she was 15 and sang the theme song of the first Step Up movie before releasing her first debut single titled "Turn Around". This song didn't do much and all the funding for Samantha switched back to Britney once Britney started getting her shit back together. Samantha went back to Australia and released a single called "Secret" that didn't do too hot on the charts. She went back to leading a normal life until last year when she auditioned for X Factor Australia and DEMOLISHED the competition because she is flaw free. With looks, charisma, and a voice like hers she literally could take over the entire music world. She is already being dubbed as the 3rd Minogue Sister and for good reason.

The Saturdays are literally the best girlband in the world right now, no questions asked. In their 5 years together they have scored 12 Top 10 singles, 3 Top 10 albums (yes I count Headlines as an album), and their first UK #1 with "What About Us". These girls may not be the best dancers, but the charisma and personalities they have together is what sets them apart from all the others. 2 of the members grew up together in S Club Juniors and then randomly both ended up in this group as well. With their 5th album coming out next month they are sure to stay relevant for a while, especially considering they have had 2 marriages and 2 babies already with 1 more of each coming this year. They have even had a US reality show on E! that did OK and released one single over here in the states, but sadly it did nothing. Hopefully after they promote the new album in the UK they will come over and give the US market another try!
