Lake Retba, Senegal’s Pink Lake

Contrary to what you might think, you’re not looking at a giant pool of strawberry milkshake, but the waters of Senegal’s Lake Retba. The unusual color, which is completely natural, is caused by large populations of the organism Dunaliella salina present in the lake.
