I’ve been to #20. They’re ok. But they have a ‘Royal Robin’ Burger with cheese, bacon and a fried egg, right? The point of the egg is when you bite into it- the yolk oozes out and it makes the burger even juicier and yummier.
RED ROBIN refuses to do that! Try ordering one and you’ll get a fried egg with a hard dried up yolk! WTF’s the point in that? I hear you ask.
Exactly! This is an excerpt from an email I received from the Manager of Environmental Health Services regarding the runny yolk fiasco:
“…The Food Premises Regulation does require that the operators must process food to make it safe to eat. So if an operator has adopted an egg policy that they will no longer serve a runny yolk egg that is their method of complying with this section of the regulation”
Yet any restaurant that offers breakfast doesn’t have to do this? They can serve your eggs to order? Runny or otherwise?
I know- I need a life.
It just pisses me off!! That’s not the only burger difference between the US and Canada, you know. In the States you can order your burgers any way you want- med rare, well done, etc.
In Canada- it’s well done or nada. I’m pretty ok with this rule though! -
