Brothers Duo, Rooftop Runners

"Energize" is the latest music video, fusing indie rock and contemporary dance.

Rooftop Runners, is an indie rock band based in Berlin and composed of Canadian brothers Benedikt and Tobias MacIsaac. Their music is experimental and dark with catchy choruses encouraging the listener to jump off their butt and get to dancing. The duo is new on the scene, releasing their first EP in 2012 on bandcamp. After listening to the EP and catching their latest music video for "Energize", I think the EP is a great start in showing the world the potential Rooftop Runners possess.

Their recent EP is very raw but this helps define the music's charm. When a note is off-pitch it doesn't distract, instead it contributes to the overall organic sound. The unpolished vocals totally work with their vibe and doesn't take away from their musicianship. The EP serves its purpose in exciting listeners for a release of a full-length album. And luckily for us their album is currently in post-production so it should be released much sooner than you think.

"Enregize"

"Energize" is the latest video from their EP "We Are Here" and the fusion of contemporary dance with indie rock is refreshing. The video's dancers are the brothers themselves and the choreography is developed by them too. Using contemporary dance in a rock video can go either way but I think these two nailed the tone of the music with the style of dance and videography.
