Five bucks says a couple of years ago previous she had them stored in a damp closet somewhere and accidentally banged them a couple of times.
I wouldn't want to touch them after that. I'd make someone who looked like they knew what they were doing to pack them up for me!

Perhaps, she was already pretty happy with her life and the way things have turned out so far, and running into that much extra money really wasn't going to changer her life. Or, since intelligence clearly runs in her family, she's already sitting on a heap of dough. Or, maybe she's got a touch of the Asperger's.

I volunteered with the Antiques Roadshow a few years ago, and they actually sometimes refilm portions of the appraisal. So if the appraiser mentions the price, and the owner freaks out, there were a few instances where they had to tape it again because lighting wasn't right etc.

“DAMN!” She said that right.
Although I don't believe money equals happiness, I feel confident that it doesn't hurt.
I wish for this woman to find her path in life. The one that brings her joy. This lady crosses me as a “It couldn't have happened to nicer person” kind of vibe.

I would have been laughing and crying and hyperventilating, all at the same time. Even so, I'm not sure I would want to part with them, once I knew they were that special!

I'm just thinking this woman is a bit overwhelmed by her reaction. She goes in there thinking she has some trinkets worth all together about 5k. Maybe if she is lucky 8k.
At under 10k you think maybe selling them to fix up the house. Maybe even a down payment for a modest house if you don't have one. Might even consider just keeping them as expensive but sentimental mementos.  At a million, you start dreaming big. Damn.
