They have higher self-esteem, like sex more, and are more likely to be bisexual, according to a new study.
Researchers compared 177 porn actresses with 177 women similar in age, ethnic background, and marital status who weren’t involved in porn. Here’s some of what they found:

How do you explain the extremely high suicide rate of porn stars then? ‘Shelley Lubben is a former porn actress who campaigns against the industry and she started a foundation called the pink cross where she helps porn actresses get out of the industry.
Basically there is a lot of sexual abuse that goes on behind the scenes - a girl will sign a contract to sleep with one guy in a scene and then turns up and there might be 12 guys there but if she says no she simply wont get paid. When girls ask a guy to stop because its hurting her usually the guys dont even stop. People constantly get stds, injuries to their reproductive systems that leave them unable to have kids etc. Also most porn actresses are forced to do more and more hardcore scenes to continue to get work because there is always someone out there to replace them’.
So that might explain some of it but i dont get why the suicide rate is so high?

Did you read the report on Taylor & Francis? Lame study, and this post fails to mention the the number of participants (177) and that they are ALL WOMAN pornstars (explaining a higher bisexual identity) or the comparison group: “There were 68 (38.4%) women recruited from university settings and 109 (61.6%) from an airport.”…..LOL
No wonder these stats are such complete bullshit….5.18 sex partners? Pa-LEASE….. -
