The Immigration Law – Is It Made For People Or People For The Law?

Throwing light on what’s happening in our political systems, it is pretty clear that we require asking whether the laws were made for the people or people for the law. There have been numerous Republicans who have fought to lead the battle of immigration reform. These are the same Republicans who are concerned about the 11 million people who are undocumented in this country, who got stranded, stuck, communalized and threatened within a broken immigration system. These are the Republicans who don’t wish to oust the millions of hardworking immigrants who don’t want to break their families.

The Republicans instead believed that legalizing all those immigrants within the country would do well for the nation and the economy as well. It would support the path to earning citizenship for all those who were ready to wait at the back of the line to become American citizens, learn English and pay American tax for the work that they did. These Republicans believed that assisting and supporting vulnerable children and families is a task that exceeds ideology and they’re the ones who are ready to welcome the Hispanic American community into their party.

On the other hand, there are Republicans who have already blocked the immigration system reform despite the fact that a majority of Republican Party members are now supporting it. They’re the ones who want to make the lives of the undocumented immigrants so miserable that they will either flee or accept what other Republicans call “racial factors” within their white constituencies. Apart from these, there are some other Republicans who deny working with the Democrats or the President on any political issue.

Most surprisingly and absurdly, instead of doing something which is right and working for the concerns of the crisis that the immigrants are facing at the border, the leader of the Republican Party is more interested in suing the President over not being able to execute the ACA or the Affordable Care Act. After almost a year of political manipulation and a federal shutdown over the protest of ACA, Speaker Boehner preferred to sue the President for not introducing the letter of a law that he opposes than voting for the immigration reform. This clearly implies that in Congress scoring a political win is more vital than lessening the sufferings of the people.

According to Appointmente as congress is at fault on its moral leadership while supporting political manipulation, President Barack Obama is considering the options that his administration can take in order to fix different aspects of the broken immigration system or at least alleviate the suffering. The President Barack Obama should start off with putting an end to deportations of people who abide by the law. However, we have to keep in mind that any step that the President takes, it will fall short of the ideal as the only consistent and worthy solution is legislative. We require supporting the attempts of the President to offer compassion unless and until the Congress takes steps to act.

Despite the action that the President is planning to take, there is still the age-old question “what purpose is the immigration law supposed to serve?” The actions or steps taken by Obama will be within his legal and constitutional authority but the fact will be that the executive branch will provide relief instead of the legislative branch. This gives rise to the aforementioned question as to the purpose of the immigration law and whom is it supposed to serve. Actually, most of the leaders have forgotten the fact that they were elected to serve people and not parties and politics.
