His work appears in leading journals like the Georgia Review, Yale Review, Southwest Review, Antioch Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Iowa Review, Boston Review, Threepenny Review, Black Warrior Review, AGNI, Fence, Denver Quarterly, Volt, London Magazine, Times Literary Supplement, and many others. His work also appears in many newspapers and magazines, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Boston Globe, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Austin American-Statesman, Charlotte Observer, In These Times, Texas Observer, Daily Beast, and elsewhere. Anis is a Pushcart Prize winner, was educated at Harvard College, and lives in Houston, Texas
