The Elephant That Was Rampaging Through Darjeeling Has Finally Been Caught

    According the reports, the rampage lasted eight hours.

    On February 10, a male elephant wandered out of his home from Baikunthapur forest, and entered Siliguri.

    While walking through the city of Siliguri in Darjeeling, he managed to destroy some shops and homes.

    His entry into the city caused widespread panic, and of course, people began attacking the elephant.

    After a while, forest personnel rushed to the scene and captured the elephant.

    They sedated the elephant using tranquilisers, and used a crane to lift it.

    According to Indian Express, the elephant's rampage resulted in the damage of over 40 houses and shops, and the destruction of several vehicles.
