I think the people defending him are just as pathetic. Why would you use a word you don’t know how to pronounce, and only know what it means by looking it up in a dictionary, but completely ignoring the pronunciation guide between the spelling and the definition of the word?  And the guy that thinks he said, “He’s the epitomic strength.” instead of “He’s the epitome of strength.” Seriously?? You’re dumber than Shia!

Eh, that’s understandable enough. Pronunciation is tricky sometimes. I never understood why ‘iron’ is pronounced ‘I urn’ rather than ‘I run,’ myself.

I’ve been pronouncing “queue” wrong, up until last week. No one ever corrected me before! Cue youuuu… .

I did that one day in high school. My friends laughed. I tried to convince them it was two different words…

I mispronounce words all the time. I know what they mean from reading, but sounding them out doesn’t always work.

He said epitomic. Which is a word.

You guys are so immature for laughing at a guy for mispronouncing a word that he obviously learned through reading. He knows what it means, he’s just never heard it out loud before. Nothing wrong with that.  I bet there are words you’ve been pronouncing wrong all your life (like “antithesis,” “gerund,” or “hitherto,” for example), and you only realize it when someone pronounces it differently.

hey, at least he didn’t say “refudiate” or “cackle or rads”. he clearly understands the definition of epitome, and he used it in the proper context.
