Twitter Responds To Benita Veliz's DNC Speech

History was made last night at the Democratic National Convention when Benita Veliz–the first DREAMer ever to speak at a convention–took the podium to tell her story.

While Benita was making her historic speech, we were watching Twitter blow up talking about her.  Here's a compilation of some of those tweets, many notably talking about how Benita was received last night compared to how she would be received at, say, the RNC:

Benita Veliz. A valedictorian of her class at 16. Double major in college. Graduated at age 20. Undocumented. Republicans would deport her.

Anyone who suggests the two parties are the same -- tell that to Benita Veliz. Only one will let her stay in this country. #dnc2012 — James Downie (@jamescdownie) September 6, 2012
