NBA League Reaction To The Sterling Fiasco

Social media reaction from players, former players and fans to the audio recording of alleged racist remarks by Clippers team owner, Donald Sterling.

    Player Response

No. He should not continue owning the clippers. #nochance #noway #nohow

Clippers take off warm-up gear, drop them at mid court t-shirts on backwards.

Heat join Clippers in protest by throwing shirts down at midcourt & wearing warmups inside out (h/t @Rachel__Nichols)

    Former Player Response

I feel sorry for my friends Coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul that they have to work for a man that feels that way about African Americans.

LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling's comments about African Americans are a black eye for the NBA.

Racism is a refuge to ignorance. Sterling has shown his primitive uneducated thoughts. It's a shame the only thing u are rich in is money.

    Fan Response

that clippers owner recording gave me straight chills.

All Clippers games should be boycotted until something is done about this. Sickening and disgusting this is going on in 2014.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver is scheduled to make an announcement regarding the league's response to Sterling at 11 a.m. tomorrow, April 29, according to ESPN 710 AM. The Clippers tip-off Game 5 versus the Golden State Warriors in Los Angeles on April 29 at 7:30 p.m.

A great debate has fired up as to whether or not fans should boycott the game. In an official statement, Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers said about the fans: "We want them to cheer for their players and their team. It will always be their players and their team."

It is unclear what action the NBA will take against Sterling or how Clippers players will react to a potentially empty arena in the next game. However, one thing is certain: The issue before us is much bigger than basketball.
