Did "Gotham" Just Kill Its First Major Villain?

Maybe, maybe not. If so it marks the first time the Fox show has killed off a canon Batman rogue. Spoilers for "The Anvil and the Hammer."

Last night's episode of Gotham showed the beginning of that city-wide war Oswald Cobblepot has been teasing all season.

Now that Oswald has coaxed Don Maroni into open aggression, all of Don Falcone's businesses and associates are at risk.

We even get to see one of these Maroni-led hits on Falcone's people, starting with an attack on two men in a car – but who is the Don shooting?

Let's look at who just got into that car...

Who on Gotham is that tall, completely bald AND a big enough part of Falcone's operation to merit a personal hit?

Victor Zsasz, Falcone's #1 hit man!

If it is Victor in the car, his death marks a HUGE departure from most DC canon interpretations of Gotham City, where Victor remains one of the Batman's most violent adversaries.

Pictured: Victor Zsasz as a character in Batman: Arkham City; Victor's character cameo in Batman Begins (note the tally marks on his neck).

RIP Victor (maybe), we hardly knew ye.
