These Illustrations Of "Harry Potter" Locations Are Magical

Amanda Penley's "Harry Potter & Magical Places" project will bring you back into J.K. Rowling's world.

Look at this beautiful illustration of Hogwarts.

It's from graphic artist Amanda Penley's ongoing illustration series "Harry Potter & Magical Locations," which has gone viral on tumblr.

Because the set began at Hogwarts castle, she naturally included the Hogwarts Express.

Many of the illustrations are gifs that show the magical properties of each location, like the secret townhouse at 12 Grimmauld Place.

Further illustrations in the series were made upon request via Penley's tumblr, like this extra-spooky Malfoy Manor.

Azkaban even has Dementors whirling around, guarding the premises.

Not all of the nighttime illustrations are scary though! Hagrid's hut looks wonderfully cozy.

And so does the charming, rickety Burrow.

Penley also included places that rarely show up in the books, like the Potters' cottage in Godric's Hollow.

She depicts Gringotts bank as it is in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, with the pale vault dragon from The Deathly Hallows breathing fire on the roof.

Penley has plans to continue the set, hoping to eventually illustrate "all of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade," but also included the Dursley's house at 4 Privet Drive.
