Expanding Minority Success In The Media
Overall, the media has easily adjusted to modern times. Although it sways the public, it is also swayed by them, with decisions having a lot to do with public thought. While advertisements and magazines used to speak about things such as different types of genders, different types of sexualities, and different types of lifestyles in a negative light, it has gone a long way in a short time. Nowadays, a lot of mainstream media embraces the differences, and the public loves to learn about them. Actors, models, journalists, and other celebrities are, for the most part, able to do their work without being hindered by one trait, one trait out of the thousands that make up who they are as a person. Seeing as how newer generations are becoming more and more accepting and open-minded, the media will most likely follow this path as well. A positive representation of all types of people in the media gives children and young adults the confidence needed to grow up and be exactly who they want.
