Two Men Arrested After Violent Anti-Gay Attack On Teenager

The incident happened in Surbiton in the early hours of Saturday morning. UPDATE: Two men have now been arrested.

Yesterday, Brian Kingsford posted this picture of his son, Robbie, to a public Facebook group.

According to The Independent, Robbie and an unnamed friend were attacked on Victoria Road in Surbiton at about 1.20am on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police told the paper the pair were subjected to anti-gay abuse by a man standing outside a YMCA – he and a friend punched Robbie's friend, and when Robbie tried to protect him, the pair kicked and stamped on him after he fell to the ground. The assault was only stopped after passers-by intervened.

The men were described as being in their late 20s and wearing pink tutus. One apparently had short brown hair; the other had shaven fair hair and was short and muscular.

It appears that progress has been made in the investigation.

The Metropolitan police have released a statement:

He was arrested on Tuesday, 4 November for grievous bodily harm and common assault and remains at a west London police station. Enquires continue regarding the identity of the second suspect.
