15 Hacks To Save Money When Shopping On ASOS

    1. Shop at smart times.

    According to In Style, ASOS lists new products twice a day. "Once in the a.m. and once in the p.m."

    So if you can't find what you want in the morning, try again after work.

    2. Check out the model's measurements, in relation to your own.

    For example, I am 5'2" and have learned the hard way that what looks "mid-thigh" on the model will be below-the-knee on me.

    3. If you're tall, know your dimensions.

    According to Height of Style, "Look for dress lengths 38"+ (38" on a 6’4" female frame falls at above knee/mid thigh, 42" falls around knee, 43"+ falls below knee)".

    4. And for a good fit, be sure to see how the item fits when it's moving.

    If you click "view catwalk", a short video of the item on the catwalk will play. See how the item moves (Does it bunch up? Does it seem stiff?) before you purchase.

    5. Use the save for later function to your advantage.

    Click "save for later" to keep an eye on items for 60 days. Then when you get a discount code, pounce!

    6. If your size isn't there, then wait a bit.

    If there's an item you want, but is out of stock, check again later. Someone else might have it in their cart and not buy it.

    "Sometimes, people like to hog all the items in a certain size in their cart (by maximizing the number of quantity available) and let it sit there for two hours, resulting in a "Not in stock" being shown on the item page." (via this comment.)

    7. Discount codes sometimes work on brands too.

    A 10 or 20 per cent discount code doesn't just apply to ASOS-branded items. This is especially good for sportswear. For example, when I needed new Nike running leggings, I waited until I had an ASOS code, and bought them there with 10% off.

    8. Avoid international transaction fees by using PayPal.

    If you have some spare cash in your PayPal account, then you can use it on ASOS. PayPal is also useful because according to Fast Food and Fashions it means you don't pay foreign transaction fees (if you're shopping from outside the UK).

    9. Chat one-on-one to a stylist.

    ASOS has nine in-house stylists who you can chat to online, and who offer on-site edits.

    Each stylist has a speciality, whether it's new trends, streetwear, or plus-size fashion.

    They're available from 3-8pm Sunday-Thursday, and 11-4pm Friday.

    10. If you're not sure about something, see how others are wearing it.

    #AsSeenOnMe is a useful edit that shows how other customers are wearing their swag.

    You can filter it by item (dresses, tops etc) and it will pull up a link to the piece if it's still in stock.
