Brussels Sprout Guacamole Exists And We Tried It

Except if you look a little closer, you'll see this guac has a secret.

It's got Brussels sprouts in it. It's called Brusselsmole, and it's coming to Marks and Spencer in October 2015.

Billed as "a festive take on the classic Mexican dip, made with Brussels sprouts and a splash of maple syrup", it's part of M&S's new Christmas range.

So we thought we'd try it out.

M&S suggest serving Brusselsmole on "toasted sourdough with bacon or pancetta".

We went for an elegant mix of carrot sticks, mini cheddars, and crackers.

So, how does it taste?

"Along with courgettes, Brussels sprouts are my least favourite food, so this was going to be a hard sell for me. I don't particularly enjoy the taste – it's very sour and reminds me too much of all the times my mum tried to get me to eat sprouts. " – Maggy Van Eijk

"I like guacamole. I actually like Brussels sprouts. I don't like Brussels sprout guacamole on crackers. But MAYBE spread on a wrap with lots of different veggies? But that would just be masking the flavour, so I guess it's not for me." – Chelsey Pippin

"It didn't taste as bad as I anticipated as it has an unusual watery initial taste, but then you really get into it and there's all sorts of sprout delivery hitting you in the back of your throat. Leaves an aftertaste of all of your weird school dinners rolled into one. I'd buy it, probably just to prank people when they're making burritos." – Carl Anka
