25 Intense Feelings Every "Community" Fan Has Experienced

Does "streets ahead" count as an emotion?

    1. The emotional roller coaster of knowing any season could be the last.

    2. Initial rage at the series being cancelled.

    3. Pure, unadulterated triumph when the series is uncancelled.

    4. Then shock when a cast member or showrunner leaves the show.

    5. Mild disbelief when it's uncancelled AGAIN and the only missing part of the #sixseasonsandamovie prophecy is the movie part.

    6. And deep solidarity with the cast when it seems like they want it just as bad as us.

    7. A weird sense of pride when you find out two of the most incompetent characters on the show are super capable in real life.

    8. That tingly feeling that washes over you when you realize you're about to watch a new paintball or holiday episode.

    9. Smugness when Joel McHale is basically his smooth-talkin' character IRL too.

When Sony cancelled Community, Joel McHale asked for an employee discount on an $8,000 Sony TV. AND ACTUALLY RECEIVED IT.

    10. Dismay at the inability to successfully explain to friends why Community is the most important show on TV.

    11. The goofy realization that Greendale Human Beings seem to be everywhere.

    12. The supreme satisfaction of finding a hidden gag on rewatch...

    13. ...or surprise when you missed a totally obvious gag.

    14. Seriously, sometimes it takes a few rewatches, okay?

    15. Intense happiness when showrunner Dan Harmon openly posts about his creative process online...

    16. ...or when he interacts with the Community fandom like he's one of us.

    17. Envy when it seems like the cast really are BFFs in real life.

    18. The UTTER HYPE at getting people to POP POP, even if they've never seen the show before.

    19. Discomfort when Allison Brie's way less fun character pops up in Mad Men.

    20. Surprise when you find out that Donald Glover is rapper Childish Gambino.

    21. And condescension when someone is like "DID YOU KNOW TROY IS CHILDISH GAMBINO???" three months later.

    22. Deep judgement when someone says they stopped watching after season one cause it got "too weird."

    23. But also nostalgia for simpler times.

    24. The anxiety that a new season can’t possibly be as creative or mind-blowing as the old ones.

    25. And of course, gratification when the new season IS just as good.
