Edgar C. Sargent- A story of an artist who went mad
The life of an artist is not always an easy ride, maybe that is one of the reasons behind their melancolic, sometimes depressive artworks. This statement is completely true when it comes to Edgar C. Sargent’s life, who lived through really hard days. Sargent was born 1867, in Heath which is a small town, near London. His family had a midle-class ranking, his childhood elapsed in deep loneliness. His father, Clarck Sargent was a photographer, and he had a small gallery, where the local artists were able to represent their works to the public. His mother’s name was Emily Gordon. Edgar met with a girl called Alice Carol in the early years of his twenties. Alice was a base-born child from an artist family. She was completely different from Edgar, She deeply loved the social life, and she had many friends, unlike Edgar who had nobody except Alice, and his family members. The young Edgar C. Sargent found the true love in Alice, and He started to think,he also have a place in this cruel, inglorious world with Alice on his side. The young couple was in the midle of their wedding plans, when Alice’s mother’s death-rumour bringt dark clouds to their life. The girl had to travel back to Guildford to the funeral, but the young couple kept the contact with letters. Edgar yearned, to get his beloved one back, be within the odds. Unfortunately, the bride was murdered, when one of her old lover found out, her wedding plans with Edgar. He murdered the girl driven by jealousness. When Edgar got the news about his beloved’s death, He was be out of his mind. Driven by his frenzied mind, He found a way to met with count Saint-Germain. The count was famous from be adept in occultism. Saint-Germain had only one advice for the itchy Edgar. Paint. He had to paint all of his feelings out of his mind, then he could find the inner-calm. Edgar C. Sargent started painting, he had absolutely nothing more, just his mindless paintings. He painted all day long, but his mind was weak, and his hearth was broken, so Edgar commited suicide in his house. He finished 4 paintings. Those who owned one of the paintings through the history, were went mad, and commited suicide. The legend says, those painting are cursed. Unfortunately, nowadays nobody knows, where are these paintings, and who owns them.
