    Radio Myth VS Radio Reality

    Here in Providence, Rhode Island, being a radio DJ seems like a dream job to most. 92 PRO-FM's Jessica Schiano & Lite Rock 105's Amy Pontes shed some light on what it's really like to be a Midday on-air personality.

    MYTH: All ticket giveaways are front row.

    REALITY: Hey, we didn't make any promises! We said you'd get into the show!

    MYTH: We get into awesome meet & greets.

    REALITY: It goes by this quick:

    MYTH: Snow days mean sleeping in!

    REALITY: We sleep in the studio so we don't miss our shift.

    MYTH: Radio DJ's Paycheck

    REALITY:

    MYTH: We get to go to the coolest places & grand openings.

    REALITY:

    MYTH: This is how we live:

    MYTH: Fans make us feel good about our jobs.

    REALITY: Not everyone is a fan.

    MYTH: We get to play whatever song we want during our shifts.

    REALITY: We play the same songs all day & all night.

    MYTH: Wearing headphones all day looks cool & hip.

    REALITY: We are deaf.
