What Is Sean Connery Saying?
Car keys, carcass, khakis, or the capital of Venezuela? You decide!
Saddest Birthday Candle Ever
Listen to this creepy and somewhat pathetic rendition of "Happy Birthday" by a dying electronic candle. Who knew machines could be so sad?
117 Items On A Lego Brick
Watch a time-lapse video of artist Walter Wick balancing 117 toys on a single Lego block. Then watch in glorious slow motion as he "unbuilds" it.
That's A Dealbreaker
This Tumblr outlines some of the many behaviors that are—as Liz Lemon would say in the parlance of our times—"dealbreakers" (i.e. reasons not to date someone). Entries include: You Don't Like Prince, You Won't Kiss Me After Oral, You Sell Weed, and You Add "(Sp?)" After Misspelled Words.
Models Are Smart
A Tumblr devoted to the underrated intelligence of the minds behind the pretty faces that sell us things. Here is one explaining how Shazam works.

Microsoft Wants You to Throw a Windows 7 Party
I'm still having a hard time believing that this isn't a joke, but watch this extremely unlikely group of friends explain some pro tips for hosting a Windows 7 launch party. Because, you know, that was the thing holding you back from throwing such a party.

A collection of truly moronic Craigslist postings. This image, for example, was accompanied by the following text: "Not sure what these are, they are too heavy to float, but they look like surf boards. They have legs under them like a very tall table. I think they are some sort of surf training tool. If you would like one or both of them, please let me know if you would like them."
Palin's Resignation Speech, Edited
Some ruthless Vanity Fair editors took red (and blue, and green) pens to a transcript of Sarah Palin's dreadful resignation speech earlier this month. Pay special attention to the green markings, those are her factual mistakes.

Best Twitter Feed Ever: Party Boys
These guys really know how to have a great time. To wit: "Woke up to insane didgeridoo in the tent. Whatever, guess I'll go on this koala hunt after all."
Michael Jackson in Full Battle Regalia
This forgotten video, released as a "trailer" for his HIStory album (it played before movies in theaters), is a perfectly over-the-top Jacksonian take on... himself. Watch for the Soviet-era military imagery and a giant statue of the King of Pop in what appears to be the Vatican.
Twitter: Did Not Impact Iran in 1979
How and to what extent the use of Twitter has helped foment the latest protests in Iran is a question of much debate. Luckily, Iran has had another revolution in recent years which allows us to compare Twitter’s effects on attempts to oust the country’s government.
How to Read "Infinite Jest" in a Summer
If you're not in a college English class, you're probably never going to read David Foster Wallace's intimidating—but by all accounts brilliant—1,000+ page tome. That's why a group of tragically hip bibliophiles has formed an international reading/support group with the goal of finishing "Infinite Jest" over the course of this summer. It starts on June 21st and ends on September 22nd. I'll do the math for you: 75 pages a week. Not bad! Maybe you'll get around to reading "Ulysses" next summer.
