1. Who's Daniel, why did he kill Ada?

Ada is the sister of Iben and Anker, they were traveling in the 3rd class compartment of the ship. Ada was shown as an ambitious little girl, and I adored her. Okay so, one day she saw a strange-looking shiny green beetle, she followed her and reached the deck of the ship, where she saw Daniel, the husband of Maura. You can see the terror on her face, Daniel signaled her to stay silent and did something on his “device” and next ADA DIED. Now, why did he kill Ada? She was innocent? Is there something she knew, due to which he had to kill her? Because later in the season Daniel is shown as the good guy, who’s trying to help the passengers, but he’s the one to kill. To be honest, I don’t trust this guy. He knew everything since the beginning, but he did evil things too. He seems like a secret agent, who’s there to spice things up.

2. How do the passengers still remember their past?

In the 8th episode of 1899, it was disclosed that the passengers have been in simulation for months, or maybe years because there were dozens of abandoned ships there, which were used in the simulation. So, if they all are in this state for too long and don’t remember anything related to boarding or anything closer to it. So, how do they remember their past? Such as, Lucien and Jerome remember the war times, or Tove, Krester and her family remember being abused. Or if somehow they still remember a part of their past, then why are they still in the condition related to their past? Like, how’s Tove still pregnant? And why Lucien didn’t die yet due to his tumor? Again, let’s suppose it’s all just “programmed” then HOW DOES MAURA DOESN’T REMEMBER A THING? We saw them injecting Maura forcefully, but why only her? I need answers!!!

3. If Maura can wake up from the simulation, then why other passengers can’t?

In the last episode, Daniel keeps telling Maura that this all is a simulation and she MUST wake up. In the end, she actually woke up and got to know the “reality”, but other surviving passengers knew too that nothing of this is real, then why they didn’t wake up? And did Maura just disappear from the simulation after waking up or her body froze there, like when your character freezes in a game when it’s lagging? Or let’s just say that Maura woke up because she’s one of the main characters, but I feel that they should have shown us the passengers who were still stuck in the simulation. And for instance, they all wake up, now what? They all are in a spaceship and the year is 2099, what are they supposed to do, jump from the spaceship? It’s like, they are stuck, both in dreams and in reality.

4. If they all are stuck in that loop of simulation; then how did Daniel know the reality of all this if he’s not stuck in there then how can he show up in it?

There were more than 1000 passengers on Kerberos. Suddenly the ship starts receiving signals from another ship, turned out it was from Prometheus; the ship which disappeared four months ago. In episode three, Captain Eyk, Maura, along with some other passengers and crew members, sailed towards the Prometheus in a lifeboat. While everybody’s focused on them, a mysterious guy sneaked into Kerberos, which was Daniel. Later, we got to know that he’s the husband of Maura and is here to help her out. But, my question is, if he’s not the part of simulation and clearly not a passenger of Kerberos, then how’s he inside the SIMULATION? He can’t just appear in simulation, but there should be some logic behind this. And yes I know that none of the laws of the universe is based on logic, but still. The creators of the show must give us a little explanation for this.

5. What happens to the passengers when a simulation ends?

The passengers are stuck in a loop of simulation, voyage after voyage. We can see lead-like crystals growing in the ship, which can destroy anything, that’s why Daniel warned them to do not touch it. So, in the end, the Kerberos got destroyed because of those, right? But if this happened to every other ship used in simulation, such as Prometheus, then why do those ships still exist in that underground ocean? They were all supposed to be destroyed, not still hanging on to the rope of life. And about the passengers, do the passengers die and then come in a new form in the new simulation, or does a copy of them come next while the previous ones stay on their respective ships?

6. What happens if someone dies in the simulation?

In Kerberos, a great number of people died, some got killed while many committed suicides (well I’ll call it murder). So, what happens next? I guess they stay in the state of sleep until the next simulation starts or they just side characters who do not exist in real life, they are just computer-programmed bots. After that mass suicide event in Kerberos, the survivors saw the ghost of their loved ones on the ship, so according to this, the dead passengers being bots is the best explanation.

7. What does it mean by what is lost, will be found?

Every survivor in the Kerberos got a letter from someone which had “what’s lost, will be found” written on it. In the beginning, I thought it could be related to Prometheus, but Nah it isn’t. It is something greater than that. According to my theory, it could be related to reality, since all of them are stuck in a simulation and lost their realities, so it’s like a sign of hope, that one day they would be returned to reality. Or it could be something else too, such as Maura’s brother, who is controlling all this. He’s lost, he got on Prometheus and now, he’s under cover somewhere, so Maura and everyone lost his contact, maybe he’ll be found.

8. 1899 and the symbols, what’s the explanation behind them?

There were several symbols used in the series, but what do they symbolize. Let’s take a look at the ones I spotted.

The Green Beetle:

It is seen as the symbol of new beginnings. Sticking to the story of 1899, when the green beetle showed up for the 1st time, they found Elliot, the boy. Later, whenever they discovered something new, the green beetle was there. Even when ada died, it was there, she must have seen something which she shouldn’t have. So, the green beetle is attached to the unlocking of mysteries and answers.

The Pyramid:
The pyramid is shown a lot in this season, it’s also one of the most important objects in 1899. According to ancient Egyptians, pyramids symbolized life after death. Connecting the dots, maybe unlocking the pyramid with that key would end the simulation and start a new one. But, it did not happen, because Daniel changed the code.

The Lead Crystals:

Lead is viewed as the metal of death or transformation, as we saw those lead crystals were there to destroy the ship and whatever it touched, which means the hand of Virginia too. So, it was shown to tell us that this simulation is going to end and a new one is about to begin.

9. Are El's Papa from Stranger Things and Maura's dad from 1899 related?

Just a funny thing that I noticed, maybe you noticed too. Doesn’t Maura’s dad remind you of EL’s dad from Stranger Things? There are many similarities, such as they both conduct experiments on their daughters, they both “lie”, they both pretend to be the victim, and they both look alike a lot. Lol, take this on a lighter note.

10. Season 1 ending, honest review:

So, season 1 ended with Maura receiving Ciaran’s (her brother’s) message on the spaceship, where she got to know about all the simulation stuff. But trust me, I was expecting something grand, she knew all this since the mid-season, and there was nothing exciting. To be honest, every episode seemed the same, people being rude to each other, French people fighting with each other, the poor passengers trying to live, Maura and Eyk exploring the secret way outs, everyone getting flashbacks, Eyk being confused all the time and passenger dying due to strange causes. There was nothing like I expected, maybe I kept my hopes too high.

11. Is there going to be Season 2 of 1899?

The creators of the season did not say Yes or No on this matter, they said it is going to depend on the viewership. Well, according to my guess if there’s going to be season 2, it would be like Maura returning to the simulation and helping all the passengers to wake up. And if the creators of this show reading this, PLEASE MAKE SEASON 2 I NEED ANSWERS!
