Woodward Polar Bears faced off against the Rogers Rams in a game to remember last Friday February 23, 2018. It was Senior Night at Rogers High School and let’s just say a single senior made the night.
Rogers’ Forward Christian Smith scored a Rogers record of 51 points in a game. The Rams defeated Woodward 101-66. Smith started hot from the start, scoring 20 points in the first quarter, leading the game with 28 at halftime. Ketaan Wyatt and Da’Sean Nelson both added 10 points for Rogers who have only lost two City League games.
Charles Robinson, Jr., scored 30 for the Polar Bears. Delveon Lear added 14. It was overall just a tough night for the Polar Bears not getting the momentum they needed to get their offense clicking. It soon started to get desperate for Woodward and the offense tried to chew at the lead but the defense wasn’t adjusting quick enough in transition for Woodward to stay in the game.
