    Graduation Prep

    By: Sierra Wiggins

Graduation Prep is the most concern for a High School Senior. All Seniors should be getting ready for their next journey in life. Even if they plan on going to college or choosing a different pathway of life, they shouldn’t let anyone or anything hinder them from pursuing their goals. Graduation can be an exciting time for them, but an emotional one as well. There is a lot to manage as you assemble to close one chapter of your life and begin a new one at the same time.

A couple ways to prepare yourself for graduation is by making sure you have all 18 points on the AIR tests or seeing if you meet two or more of the graduation requirements. Before you graduate make sure all your debts are paid off and every book you borrowed is returned as well. Order your cap and gown ahead of time, take Senior pictures if interested, fill out for scholarships, apply for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), set up a resume if needed and construct yourself for the next step in life. The final weeks may be suddenly less important to some Seniors, but that’s the most important time to make sure all your grades are on track, and to study for the final exams.

Woodward Seniors are overjoyed to graduate and are very pleased that the tests, homework, and studying is over. So now they can relax the entire summer. Woodward Senior Eric’Zion Hodge said, “ It’s a day I’ve been waiting for since my early childhood, hard work and dedication got me through high school. If I can do it, others can too.”

Woodward Senior Corvon Williams said, “ Graduation has been my biggest goal since my freshman year; I’ve worked hard in and out of every class to accomplish my biggest goal.” As graduation gets closer, it’s normal to get nervous or overwhelmed since so much is happening. This is the time to celebrate all of the hard work. Have fun at graduation and congratulations to all of the Seniors.
