How to Enjoy Valentine’s Day with a Budget.
The Meal
The Meal is usually the expensive part of a date so this is what I have found that will be cheap.
If you are sitting in: Valentine’s Day falls in a Tuesday this year which could only mean one thing. Domino’s Two for Tuesday Deal which is if you buy one pizza you will receive the other pizza free. Domino’s ain’t the cheapest either but it will help your budget massively This menu is suitable for Vegans , Vegetarian and religious or cultural. Another is the Mark’s and Spencer’s wine and dine meal option where you receive any hot meal for two and a Bottle of Wine for £10.
If you are going out: Wetherspoon’s do the magnificent Beer and Burger Option for under £6 which includes a burger of any choice with onion rings , salad , chips and also a beer if your date isn’t into beer then you can still buy a wine or spirit which is still under a tenner. McDonald’s Pound Saver menu is a prime of example of eating out during a budget you can get a burger , fries and drink for under a fiver with this menu. For Vegetarians or vegan’s you can also get a salad and drink from McDonalds for under a tenner so you are still saving money.
The Entertainment
The Entertainment is the main objective to aiming for a successful date this is what I have found that will make your date interesting.
If you are staying in: Netflix or kodi is actually a very big website that provides a number of films and programmes that you and your date can watch the only issue is finding a film or programme you both like so good luck with that one , you can get this for under a tenner a month but if you don’t fancy paying for it then use a friends account or use kodi which is a streaming website. Pie face is a children’s game but this can be very entertaining with a few drinks. The only issue is that pie face isn’t cheap so I would recommend speaking to your friend with kids to let you borrow it for the night this could cost you money for sweets with the negotiation of a child.
If you are going out
Good thing is that compare the market who are a cheaper car insurance company do a 2 for 1 cinema ticket offer called Meerkat Tuesdays which basically means you can buy one ticket and get the other one free the only issue is if you don’t drive well just ask your friend if they have a meerkat Tuesdays code or to agree on what film you want to watch but that can be easily resolved. tenpin Bowling in Soar at Intu Braehead is actually incredibly cheap and an easy game to enjoy and get some conversation added to your date. The price for two games which is enough because your date will end up getting bored will cost you about £12.70 which still gives you a decent amount to spend still on your budget.
The Couple of drinks
If you are Staying in: Keep an eye on your local supermarket or newsagents for deals on alcoholic beers , spirits and wines. If your date dosen’t drink make sure you either have juice or tea and coffee in the house safe bet. If you are going out: Glasgow is brilliant for drinks promotions especially up in sauchiehall street just walk the street and have a look at pub or bar posters to look at the deals. Wetherspoon’s is normally good for a good deal but there is no music meaning the atmosphere is normally tense but driftwood bar near charring cross trainstation is brilliant for deals plus music isn’t too loud.
I would advise getting drunk on a date could lead to disaster so make sure after every second drink you drink a pint of water.
The Taxi Home
The Last hurdle of the date
if you are staying in: Pay for your dates taxi home or if she lives locally and it isn’t raining walk her or him to their door as it seems romantic and also a good thing to do if you want a second date. If you are going out: Still Pay for the taxi so make sure you have a few quid on you to ensure you and your date get home.
