Antofagasta, a giant Chilean mining company, has proposed sulfide-ore copper mines in the Boundary Waters watershed, less than a mile from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. [Sulfide-ore mining releases six toxins harmful to humans](http://twtd.wilderness.org/locations/boundary-waters/): mercury, lead, arsenic, asbestos, particulate air pollution, and cadmium.

They wouldn't risk poisoning the waters of America’s most-visited designated wilderness area, would they?

Despite the clear cultural value, Utah officials are working with the Trump administration to [revoke the area's national monument protections](http://twtd.wilderness.org/locations/bears-ears/) to make way for oil drilling and uranium mining.

Would they risk destroying up to 100,000 archaeological sites to make way for oil drilling and uranium mining?

The Trump Administration has promised to review protections for the Owyhee Desert Sagebrush that are integral to keeping [the greater sage-grouse off the endangered species list](http://twtd.wilderness.org/locations/owyhee-desert/).

They wouldn't think about mining on lands that are vital to keeping a species off the endangered species list, would they?
