Did you know that just by being a student here you have access to a bunch of FREE/ included services? Here are just a few you should definitely take advantage of this year!

1. Gym Membership

As a Ryerson student you get access to not one, but TWO gyms at both our Mattamy Athletic Centre (MAC) and the Recreation and Athletics Centre (RAC). Not only does this include free use of the facilities and equipment but you also get a discounted rate on classes and can sign up for lots of different intramural teams!

2. Google Apps and Office 365

As a Ryerson student you get access to UNLIMITED storage through Google Apps where you can connect your classes to your Google Calendar, work with your peers through Google Drive, and use your Ryerson Google email account for basically everything. Also, you can download Office 365 (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) for free using your Ryerson email.

3. Health/Dental Plan

Part of your tuition is used for your Health/Dental plan which means that if you choose not to opt-out of the insurance, you can access a lot of services! A few include dental cleanings and check ups, physiotherapy, prescription medication, travel insurance, ambulance fees, and more!

The Career Centre is literally too good to be true. Here they will help you create your resume, cover letter, portfolio, do mock interviews, help connect you with employers, and so much more. They offer workshops throughout the year or you can make an appointment with a Career Education Specialist who's specific to your faculty! Another perk, you can keep using their services up to 5 years after you graduate.

5. On Campus Jobs

Want to work on campus? Through the Career Boost program you can find hundreds of jobs on campus that will provide you with a great network and an amazing experience. A lot of them may be related to your field too!

6. Loan a Laptop

Ryerson lets students borrow laptops free of charge from the Library and from a couple of Equipment Distribution Centres across campus! Depending on your program, you can borrow some really awesome tech equipment as well.

7. Digital Media Experience Lab

Have you ever wanted to learn how to 3D print? Try out Virtual Reality? Or brush up on your Photoshop/Illustrator skills? At the DME you can sign up for free workshops, lectures, tutorials and even borrow awesome equipment like Go Pros and 360 Cameras! It's located on the 3rd floor of the SLC!

Ryerson offers 10 different zones that allow you to experience real-world problem solving, learn new skills, and gain tangible experience.

9. Tri-Mentoring Program

The Tri-Mentoring program is a great opportunity where 1st year students are matched with upper year students in the same program or with similar interests in order to help you successfully transition into your 1st year at Ryerson. This is a great way to get realtime advice from students who have truly been there, done that.

10. Centre for Student Development and Counselling

The CSDC offers free, confidential counselling services. You can either book one-on-one appointments or join Group Care to learn and grow with other students going through something similar. The CSDC offers really amazing support so make sure to reach out if you need it!

11. RU Therapy Dogs

There are SO many different services to access with SLS. Book an appointment for Writing Support and have an expert go through your essay with you. Or sign up for Math Support and enjoy free individual or group tutoring. You can also find English Language Support and Academic Accommodation Support here and its all located on the 4th floor of the SLC!

13. Walk Safe Program

The Walk Safe Program is a free service offered 24/7 where Ryerson Security staff members will happily escort you anywhere you need to go on campus. Just give them a call at 416-979-5040 and they will send someone over to meet you! Remember, you should always feel safe and confident walking around campus.

14. Student Initiatives Fund

Do you have an idea for an awesome student initiative? The Student Initiatives Fund or "SIF" helps students fund their projects and provides resources helping you bring your idea to fruition! Any students from any faculty can apply for funding.

15. Ryerson Image Centre
