1. The Thompkins Square Dog Parade

Pooches aren't excluded from this goulish holiday- every year, Thompkins Square Park in the East Village holds their annual dog costume parade, where owners take pride in dressing up their furry best friends for prizes and pure fun. Candy and canine cuteness? We'll take it.

2. New York Haunted Hayride

Ditch the yellow cab or Uber for the night- instead, ride around Randall's Island Park in a hay filled pulley, testing your fears at the New York Haunted Hayride. Visitors will be faced with gruesome scenes of terror, so hopefully you aren't afraid of the dark.

Blood Manor is 5,000 square feet of terror and fright that isn't for the faint of heart. Visitors are forced to walk through the haunted corridors and test their terror limits in this very haunted house.

5. The Village Halloween Parade

Last but not least, and quite possibly the biggest, most sought after Halloween event, is The Village Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village. This year marks the 43rd annual time of the event, which usually boasts numbers of around 100,000 paraders storming around the Village in costume, so it's a spectacle not to be missed.
