I Tried 3 Weet-Bix Hacks And Honestly, I'll Never Look At Weet-Bix The Same Way Ever Again

I've been in the dark when it comes to Weet-Bix this whole time.

Unlike most pantries, where you'll always find items like salt and oil, mine is always, always stocked with Weet-Bix. It's been my go-to breakfast for years, but when I watched this video showing me the many, many other ways I could have been using Weet-Bix this whole time, I immediately set out to discover the depths of the limitations of my knowledge.

I tried out all three Weet-Bix hacks for myself and I'm never going to eat Weet-Bix in the same way ever again.

1. I started off my culinary awakening with a serve of homemade French toast — with a twist.

If I had it my way, every single last thing I ate would have an irresistible crunch to it. With this hack, using finely crushed Weet-Bix as a crunchy coating elevated what would otherwise be a regular, run-of-the-mill French toast into a textural experience.

I made my French toast egg mixture to dunk my bread in.

And then instead of immediately frying the toast, I dipped both sides of the custardy bread in the crushed Weet-Bix crumb, before transferring it to a pan with delectable melted butter.

I only wish you could hear the crunch on the coating.

2. Committed to trying each and every one of these inspired Weet-Bix hacks for myself, I whipped up some homemade falafels for lunch, using Weet-Bix to not only up the nutritional content of my meal, but also stretch my recipe further.

The only extra step to this recipe was quite literally adding Weet-Bix to the food processor when combining all the falafel ingredients.

Once I had my falafel mixture ready and shaped into falafel balls, it was business as usual — I gave them a pan-fry on both sides and then served them with some flatbread and veggies for a quick, easy and nutritious lunch.

3. When the time came for an afternoon snack, I blitzed up a healthy berry smoothie — and threw two Weet-Bix in the mix for an extra hit of fibre.

As someone who prefers a slightly thicker smoothie, the addition of two Weet-Bixes made for the perfect smoothie texture.

Although I went into this experiment optimistic, I would be lying if I said I didn't harbour a teensy bit of scepticism. Turns out my fears were not warranted in the slightest — and that Weet-Bix really is that versatile.

So, what are you waiting for? Go forth and discover a brave new world of possibilities and reach for your next box of Weet-Bix with confidence.
