Your Favourite Disney Princess Is Gay, Here Is Proof!

There are probably a hundred of conspiracy theories surrounding the Disney princesses. Almost everyone, young or grown-up, is obsessed with Disney. And why not? The fascinating tales of doe-eyed princesses and kiss of love are unfailingly delightful. They restore our faith in magic, or do they? Never mind that, like many other young gay boys I too grew up reading, sometimes enacting, but most importantly believing in these fairy tales. So much that I looked into the stories of these princesses very carefully, dichotomized them, tried to resonate with Princess Tiana’s frog fetish. The calceology of Cinderella's glass slippers. And even the exact colour of Aurora’s eyes, violet, if that matters to you as well. This is practically my full time job. While doing all these significant research work I stumbled upon the biggest revelation of this decade. I looked further, after meticulous examination of several Disney texts and DVDs I can say this for sure that all the fairy tales, were in fact originally written with gay characters. I am not quite sure when and who fiddled with the original scripts, but what I know is that the hetero-normative representation of fairy tales is forced and not entirely true. Once you read through this article, you shall see the similarities between fairy tales and the exact reality we (gays) live in. No kidding. These five solid examples are enough proof to back my theory.

Rapunzel, originally a closeted gay boy

A young Princess who’s been locked away for years, desperately wanting to break free. Say no more! A gay boy spends half his lifetime in a locked closet, until one day when a charming knight in shining armour sets him free. Rapunzel is the classic coming-out story of every gay boy ever. The charming knight could be a bit of a drag, but you surely do relate with Rapunzel spending her entire childhood in the wilderness of an isolated closet.

The Frog Prince, swipe right!

Let’s face it. No straight girl ever kisses a hundred frogs. But the gays do. Probably, more than a hundred. And certainly a lot more than just a kiss. The Princess in The Frog Prince has to be a gay man swiping left right and centre to find his Mr. Right in a virtual sea full of toads aka Tinder. And for all you know, behind a headless torso you may just find your Prince Naveen. Until then kiss another frog.

Cinderella, just another gay story!

This is a no-brainer. Only a gay man would know what it really means to be in Cinderella’s shoes. Because, most of the Grindr dates do not even last until the midnight.

A hopeless romantic yearning for love. Sounds familiar? For a gay man to look for real love, it is almost same as diving into unknown waters. And even if he finds his prince, there is a price to pay for every wish that he makes.
