10 Cool Things Orlando-Dwellers Don't Want You To Know About

You know how it is with your favourite places – if you tell people about them, they'll only be too busy when you want them. It's the same in Orlando. We've uncovered some cool places to check out with the help of Visit Orlando.

1. Drink craft beer and boutique wines in an eclectic furniture store.

If you like what you're sitting on in The Imperial, you can always buy it (although fitting it in your luggage will be a challenge). If you're further north of the city, you should head to their other bar, The Sanford, for prohibition-style cocktails.

2. Pick up some vintage clothes in Orlando's best vintage store.

You're sure to find something in Dechoes you wouldn't see on Brick Lane.

3. Eat in a restaurant so new and exciting even the locals are Instagramming it.

4. Pay what you like for good coffee.

There's no set price for drinks at the not-for-profit Credo; you just pay what you think it's worth. (British politeness dictates that you end up paying twice as much as you usually would, but this is beside the point.)

5. Drink cocktails from vintage glassware on red velvet sofas in a small downtown bar.

The Courtesy Bar can get crazy busy, but pop down on a Sunday night for a chilled-out atmosphere.

6. Drink weird beer (plum? seaweed?) with bearded men.

Redlight, Redlight has been around since 2005 and is super popular with the locals.

7. Try a mimosa popsicle in the only shop in Orlando that has them.

Sure, they're bragging. We'd brag too. Head to The Pop Parlour for all-natural, handcrafted popsicles (that's code for "ice lollies").

8. Watch your favourite movie in a vintage movie theatre.

A proper local treasure, The Enzian Theatre has mismatched sofas, an excellent cocktail bar, and shows classic movies as well as new ones. Plus, it's got a garden so picturesque some lucky people even get married in it.

9. Cool down in Orlando's 24-hour coffee shop/live-music venue/purveyor of the greatest iced coffee in town.

Austin's Coffee also has live comedy, art shows, independent film screenings, and an ever-changing selection of beer and organic wine.

10. Take a stroll along a quiet boardwalk.
