    Sailor's Beed / Sjömansbiff

This amazing beef stew is made with beer and lots of yellow onions. The whole thing is incredibly tasty.

    Serves 6

    INGREDIENTS:

    2 yellow onions

    3 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 pound of beef steak

    1/3 cup flour

    5 tablespoons butter

    2 pounds winter potatos

    2 bay leaves

    1 teaspoon dried thyme

    1 1/2 cups water

1 piece of dried beef bullion

    1 1/2 cups dark beer

Parsley, pickled cucumber, and mustard, for serving

    PREPARATIONS:

Chop the onion and fry in a pan with 3 tablespoons of butter until golden in color. Put aside.

Cut the meat in pieces about ½-inch thick. Put the meat between plastic cling wrap and pound it with something heavy - the bottom of a pan works for example.

Mix, flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl and add the meat. Mix evenly. Fry the meat on both sides in a hot pan with 2 tablespoons butter. About ½ a minute on each side.

Peel the potatoes and cut them in thin slices.

Mix potato, fried onion, meat, bay leaves and thyme in a pot. Potatoes should be at the bottom and the top. Heat water in a separate pot, dissolve the bullion and pour it over the potatoes and the meat. Add the beer and let it simmer under a lid for 1 1/2 hours. Serve with parsley, pickled cucumber and mustard.
