Do You Actually Have Gaydar?

They say that the eyes are windows to the soul. Can you tell who is straight and who is gay based on their eye gaze? Bonus points if you can name which is the 'broken stare' and which is the 'direct gaze'.

We know that Gaydar doesn't actually exist, but wow. Just kidding, we made this quiz really hard on purpose. Many people say they have gaydar, but they are just relying on stereotypes. Without stereotypes, it becomes 10x harder. Also, stereotypes aren't always accurate. A good rule of thumb is to not try and assume anyone's sexuality. That way you are never wrong!

Wow you got them all right! You either can read nonverbal cues really well, or maybe gaydar actually exists. A lot of what people pick up on are stereotypes and not actual nonverbal cues. Help spread the word that we shouldn't rely on stereotypes to assume people's sexual orientations or assume people's orientations at all. After all, there are way more identities within the LGBTQ+ community besides just gay and lesbian.

You're pretty perceptive!

You were able to tell if some people were LGBTQ+ but not every time. As you can tell, Gaydar isn't an exact science. In fact, most of the time it isn't rooted in any science. Don't let stereotypes misguide you. After all, they are generalizations. Also it's not your job to tell someone what their sexuality is. Also, it doesn't take into account any of the other identities within the LGBTQ+ community. Be sure to check our website to see if you're actually picking up nonverbal cues or if you're relying on stereotypes.
