Stefan Salvatore Deserved Better!!

I've been seeing people hate on Stefan for no reason so I thought I would share some reasons on why he deserves way better!

Stefan went with Klaus, in order to save Damon

In season 2, Damon was bitten by a werewolf and the only thing that could save him was Klaus's blood. Keep in mind, they weren't even on the best terms during this time. Klaus wanted to turn Stefan back into the ripper that he was in the 1920s. While, Stefan was with Klaus, TO SAVE HIM, Damon kisses Elena, Stefan's girlfriend. I mean, what a nice way to repay him. He also resisted compulsion for Elena because that's how much love he had for her. (Not a stelena shipper, I think he can do way better)

Stefan offered his life for Jenna's

In order for Klaus to activate his wolf side and become a hybrid and create more hybrids, he needed to break the hybrid curse. He needed to sacrifice the doppelganger (Elena), a vampire and a werewolf. (I can't remember everything correctly) He was going to use Jenna, but Stefan offered to give Klaus himself instead.

Being the only person there for Katherine on her death bed

In season 5, Elena had forced the cure into Katherine's mouth and she was dying of old age. Damon filled her head with negative thoughts and illusions as she was dying. Stefan, showed to her that it wasn't her fault and she was just a 17 year old girl who lost her family. He was able to forgive her for compelling him and was the only person to stick by her side as she died while everyone else was celebrating her dying.

Stefan made a deal with Cade (AKA the devil)

He made a deal with Cade to bring him evil people, in order to protect Caroline's daughters. He despised turning off his humanity, because he knew once he went all ripper, he didn't have much self control. But he LITERALLY sold his soul to the devil to protect Caroline and Alaric's kids.

Sacrificing his life

Stefan had not been married for two days, and his life was finally coming together. His mother died at a young age, and grew up with an abusive father. He then fell in love with Katherine, who did compel him, and then left him. Next, he fell in love with Elena. And I know you guys are gonna be like he fell in love with her because she looked like Katherine! That could be so, but he made sure she wasn't like Katherine. He fell in love with her because in his eyes she was selfless, and kind. Anyway, due to Damon always pursuing Elena while she was with Stefan, she fell for him. But at the end, he sacrificed his life so Elena could meet the man Stefan fought hard for Damon to become.

Conclusion

Stefan was a selfless person. Being nice doesn't make you boring. Caring about others doesn't mean you have no personality. He spent years becoming who he is and controlling his ripper side. He mainly only did bad things when his humanity was off. If you look back, he turned his humanity off to help other people or because he was forced to. The first time it was because of Klaus, so he could save Damon. The second time, it was because Caroline threatened to kill his cousin/niece if he didn't turn off his humanity. And the last time, it was because of Cade and in order to protect Caroline's kids. Also, feeling remorse does mean you are a better person. And he literally sacrificed his life after being married for less than two days, just so Elena could get to know the man Damon has become. So, say it with me: Stefan Salvatore deserved way better.
