I Went To The 'Sex And The City' Pop-Up In Covent Garden And Here's Everything I Did

    Fellow Sex and the City stans rejoice! The entire series is being released on Blu-ray™ for the first time, and HBO have just released a brand new reboot series – And Just Like That…

    The new chapter follows Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendships in their ‘30s to the even more complicated relationships in their ‘50s. 

    And that’s not all! They’ve also opened an immersive pop-up in Covent Garden for one weekend only to celebrate the release! Here’s all the things you can do to honour the iconic show…

    1. Firstly, put on your most Carrie-esque outfit – faux fur coat, messy bun, chunky gold jewellery and all.

    2. Take pictures in front of the many backboards as if you’re at a glamorous celeb event.

    Warning: the SATC-themed backdrops you encounter will encourage enough selfies to get your phone memory dangerously low.

    3. Walk through the timeline and reminisce over all the most memorable moments of the series.

    Including when Miranda introduces Charlotte to ‘The Rabbit’ and when Big and Aidan brawl in the mud.

    4. Rush down the iconic Manhattan apartment steps.

    5. And then enter the apartment in some kind of tizzy.

    Perhaps you just bumped into Big with his new girlfriend.

    6. Admire all the intricate details they’ve recreated from the show.

    Including pictures of The Gang, Marlboro cigarette butts with red lipstick on them, and Carrie’s extra knitwear storage solution (AKA her oven).

    7. Pensively type on Carrie’s laptop as though you’re a highly-coveted columnist, inspired by her most recent love affliction.

    I particularly enjoyed the vintage-style laptop complete with ASMR-worthy keyboard.

    8. And gather more inspo by flicking through one of Carrie’s many fashion-related books in her cosy nook.

    Seriously, I loved how true they stayed to the tiny proportions of New York apartments!

    9. Witness THE ‘Carrie’ gold necklace in the flesh (alongside her other dressing table goodies).

    And then immediately Google where you can buy an identical necklace with your own name on it.

    10. Lounge on (or at least near) Carrie’s bed as if you just got in from a night on the town.

    11. Squeal over the iconic tutu-and-cami combo hanging in the doorway of her wardrobe.

    12. And of COURSE pose inside Carrie’s incredible wardrobe, complete with stunning dresses, colourful scarves, and countless pairs of shoes!

    I have to say seeing this was my favourite part of the whole experience! Walking through it was like stepping into one of teenage Valeza’s (okay, also adult Valeza’s) dreams.

    13. Seriously, take your time to look over the detail they’ve put into it.

    From the clashing prints and mixed textures of the clothes to the handbags and shoes haphazardly (but not carelessly) scattered around, it was true perfection!

    14. Enjoy the famous theme music playing throughout the entire immersive experience.

    The involuntary shimmy this incites makes for some very boomerang-able videos, just FYI.

    15. Make sure you explore the beautiful sights of Covent Garden afterwards.

    Maybe even pick up a glass of mulled wine (AKA London's festive answer to a cosmo) and take some pics in your Carrie-inspired ‘fit while you're at it.

    16. Not forgetting to give the shops one final look over, in true Carrie style!
