7 Reasons Why You Should Vote In The Elections Today

The Award-winning Students Union at University of West London is run by students for students. Each year in autumn we hold elections for students who are determined to represent UWL at the National Union of Students National Conference, short: NUS Delegates, and Student Trustees. The candidates are now running their campaigns which means the future of the University is in YOUR hands. Make sure you vote for your favourite campaigner right now and contribute to a real change. Not convinced yet? Below are seven reasons why your vote matters!

1. It will affect you!

While NUS Delegates will be representing UWLSU to discuss and decide national policies at the NUS National Conference, a Student Trustee will make sure the Students Union is responsible for financial matters and setting long-term strategies. So your vote matters - vote for the candidates who you think represent your view the most and make sure you contribute to a change.

2. It is your chance to be heard!

Do you wish to receive more financial support? Is it on your mind to lower student fees? You have a general concern about how things are run at Uni? Now is your chance to finally get heard! The candidates have listed up their aims and goals for the future, but only with your vote they are closer to fulfilling them!

3. Help to shape the way for an even brighter future!

Both NUS Delegates and Student Trustees have the chance to create a better future for you, your peers - no matter if you are a fresher or a final year student - and all future students. Is there something on your mind which affects your experience at Uni? You have the chance to do something about it now - if you vote for your preferred candidate now he/she will try the best to make it happen.

4. Support your fellow students!

All candidates who are running the election are students themselves, maybe some of them are even your friends or in your same course - which makes voting even more important! Agree with their manifesto? Show them and support them by voting and believing in their vision! There is nothing more important than students supporting each other.

Student Trustees play a big role when it comes to making sure that the Union uses its financial resources in the right way. Do you believe their budget should be spent on other things in particular? Are you not happy about how certain societies are funded? Then vote NOW!

Student Trustees and NUS Delegates are here to represent your needs and wants both internal and external. So if you have complaints about how things are run around here, make sure you really do something about it and VOTE!

Yes, we know you might be busy finishing essays and studying for exams. The good thing is that voting only takes a maximum of two minutes! Plus, it can be done on any electronic device. Simply log into your account and select your chosen candidates, and don't forget to click on 'vote'! That's it, who said voting wasn't easy?
