Aimee is a third year student with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Biology and Linguistics. This year, she was a Student Ambassador, Communications assistant for Student Recruitment and Admissions, President of Free the Children at UTM, and Research Assistant for the Digital Well-Being Lab. This past month, Aimee assisted in planning the UTM spring open house where she revamped the self-guided campus tour booklet, developed online promotional content, and covered highlights of the day on social media. One of her biggest projects this year was the #MyUTM campaign and it was showcased during the open house. She developed it to share the unique stories that make up the UTM community, highlighting the opportunities available through the triumphs of current students. She also conducted research on the variation of Canadian English in Mississauga, and presented it this past month at TULCON, the longest running undergraduate linguistic conference in North America. In the future, she hopes to have a career in Health Care, focusing on rehabilitation, whether it be working with patients or in the research aspect, and wants to pursue psychology at the graduate level.
