How Well Do You Know UREC?

Its formal name is the Robert E. Witt Student Activity Center, AKA 'The Witt.'

Formerly known as SACPV, the Robert E. Witt Student Activity Center is located between Presidential I and II. With a 40' climbing wall and a full Group Ex schedule, The Witt is an awesome addition to University Recreation. For more information visit urec.sa.ua.edu.

We'll start with an easy one. Where is the Witt Center?

The SRC, The Witt, and the Aquatic Center are all University Recreation centers. Our facilities are open to students, faculty, staff, members, and guests. Don't forget your Action card!

How many UREC facilities are there?

Racquetball supplies can all be checked out at the front desk at the SRC.

With 6 racquetball courts there's a place to play for everyone!

Here's a tougher one: How many racquetball courts do we have at the SRC?

Offered at both the SRC and The Witt Center, DAZE is a fun way to get your cardio in and learn some new dance moves.

DAZE is our cardio/dance Group Exercise class!

What Group Exercise class is geared toward dance and cardio?

We have a variety of cardio machines like treadmills, stair climbers, and ellipticals. Come up and get sweaty on our indoor running track or spin bikes! PS: The Witt Center and Aquatic Center also have cardio areas for your convenience.

What website do you use to sign up for intramural sports?

Purchase your unlimited climbing pass at The Witt Center for just $15. After you've taken your climbing test your unlimited pass will work at both The Witt Center climbing wall and the SRC climbing wall.

An unlimited climbing pass costs $15 for the semester!

How much does an unlimited rock climbing pass cost for the semester?

Hint: We recommend arriving at least 15-20 minutes before class time to get this golden ticket!

Arrive early to ensure your spot in a Group Ex class. Don't forget your H2O and a towel to dry off-- our classes get sweaty!

You need all of the above! But mostly a PASS!

What do you need to take a Group Exercise class?

For entry into UREC facilities and to play intramural sports games you must bring your Action Card

What do you need to get into any UREC facility or to play intramural sports?

The more you visit the more awesome stuff you'll learn about UREC. Speak with one of our Rec staff to learn about personal training opportunities, the Outdoor Rec, and sport clubs.
